The dugong is a marine mammal. It's the manatee's cousin, that can be distinguished by its rounded tail VS the dugong 's tail which looks like the dolphin's tail.

The dugong is usually found in seagrass beds, sandy bottoms or mangroves, near-shore with a shallow depth (less than 133 foot).

It's the only herbivorous marine mammal!

Like other mammals, it must come to the surface to breathe. His apneas last 1 to 4 minutes, sometimes 8 minutes. Its activities are mainly related to the tides.
